Italian officials visit Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art

Italian official delegation visits Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA).

Italian official delegation has paid a visit to the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA).

The undersecretary of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism, Antimo Cesaro, and the undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola, visited the museum on Friday.

The delegation was accompanied by Italian Ambassador to Tehran Mauro Conciatori.

Visiting the treasure trove of the museum, Cesaro said he visited the trove during his previous trip to Iran.

He also noted that displaying a selection of the works on the walls of the museum has added more to the beauty of the works.

Cesaro expressed his hope that after signing agreements with Iranian officials discovering young talents and holding exhibitions of works by Iranian and Italian artists will come on stream.

Director of the museum Ali-Mohammad Zare well-received Cesaro’s suggestion and stated the museum’s readiness to cooperate in holding workshops.

The Italian delegation has arrived in Iran to take part at the 30th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).

Italy is the guest country of TIBF and a number of Italian officials have been invited to Iran.

Visiting the museum has been a sideline program of the book fair.

TMCA plays host to works by many noble western artists, including Claude Monet, Francis Bacon, Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Donald Judd, Andy Warhol, René Magritte, Duane Hanson and Chuck Close.
